MR. BASKOV is a superstar of major magnitude in Russia and throughout Europe who effortlessly bridges the range of popular to classical music.. His popular concerts appearances are in great demand and draw capacity audiences.  He has also recorded many  pop recordings that have garnered awards, including the coveted Platinum Record in the Gran Gala of Records’ Award in Monte Carlo. His career as a popular star already established, Mr. Baskov began to attend many master-classes of Montserrat Caballé, becoming her pupil.  The result was his debut at the Bolshoi Theatre as Lenski in Eugene Onegin, followed by many classical concerts, including one with Montserrat Caballé at Moscow’s Kremlin Assembly Hall. He then went on to sing Massenet’s Cleopatre (role of Spakos) at the Festival Euro Mediterráneo in Rome, the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, and at the Teatro Real in Madrid. He has sung with the Berlin Philharmonic, Cologne Philharmonic, the Flâneries Musicales d’Eté in Reims, at the Taormina Festival, and at the Opera House in Basel. Recently he sang Canio in Pagliacci at the Thessaloniki Opera House, where he will be performing Romeo in Gounod’s Romeo et Juliette in 2009.

MANUEL BURGUERAS, Pianist

Studied at the National Conservatory of Buenos Aires. He started his career as a soloist, specialising at the same time in chamber music and accompaniment with Guillermo Opitz, Erik Werba and Paul Schilawsky. He accompanied master classes of Aldo Baldin and María Niles and at the singing competitions of S’Hertogenbosch (Holland), Internationaler Musikwettwerb and Bayerischer Rundfunk, Francisco Viñas in Barcelona and Montserrat Caballé International Singing Contest in the Principality of Andorra. Since 1991 he accompanies Montserrat Caballé, having performed at the Rome Opera, Opernhaus Zurich, Salle Gaveau, Salle Pleyel, Opera Garnier in Paris, Royal Opera House Covent Garden and Royal Festival Hall in London, Konzerthaus Vienna, Lincoln Center New York, Bolshoi Theater Moscow, Maryinsky Theater Saint Petersburg, Auditorio Nacional de Música and Teatro Real in Madrid, Palau de la Música Catalana and Gran Teatro del Liceo in Barcelona, Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Berlin Philharmonie, Herkulessaal in Munich, Alte Oper in Frankfurt and Grosses Festspielhaus in Salzburg, among others.
